A Woman...

This blog was written by me during my undergraduate studies when my perceptions regarding the condition of women underwent a transformation.

Woman is the most beautiful creation of the God.

The sensitive, loving and creative elements of this world, if there is one, is... The Woman. Woman is a symbol of tolerance. Perhaps if the creator - God had not created the women, all the creations would have become completely dull and Virtueless. It is true that god has created woman, gave her the title of power "Shakti", but have mankind understood this power...?

On one hand people consider woman as a form of primordial energy or on the other hand they consider her as a shoe of the foot. Sometimes it looks like that woman is a puppet that everyone can make control on her by their fingers. First father's puppet, then the husband's and then the son's. She has to pass every test of the world, only then her character is sacred, if not... she is a burden on her father and the stigma on the family.

There is one saying in Gujarati, "નારી સાપનો ભારો" - but ask this heavy bondage of snakes, how it stays in bondage...? How does she protects her character? How does she drinks the bitter gourds of the world ? Ask woman what she feels by this. The reason of all these things are our society and it's rules and regulations. We actually don't know what is the measurement of character of a woman. Doesn't it sound too funny and foolish to measure someone's character?  especially of the woman. In all these things, her self-sufficiency is destroyed nowhere.

When a girl is born, put a first step on this world, ever since she becomes burden. A person, in whose house a girl is born is called ill fated by the society, and the family also shows dislike to the girl. But people don't want to understand that the woman who has given the birth to girl is after all one's daughter. If her parents had considered her as a burden, one family would not be happy.

I don't want to talk about the Purans and all of our ancient tradition, because as per my opinion, no doubt, there are also very good example of the women who strongly and wisely fought for her identity, but on one way or the other the concept is now widely spread something in a different form. We are talking about women as a primordial energy, but it is like rule on the paper, means it never works.  But now as a woman, I just think that woman should not wait for anyone, that someone will come and empower her. It's a time to empower ourselves, without anyone's help. According to an Australian comedian and actor Hannah Gadsby,

There is nothing stronger than a woman who has rebuilt herself.

Whenever we talk about women empowerment, I personally feel that I can change myself. Let them tell. I am pursuing my bachelor's and coming from the rural background, so I also come across many such hurdles and I know what is the situation of women even in 21st century. Though I am quite fortunate to get lovely and kind hearted parents and siblings. But at very first point I also had to fought for my self identify. We have to try to change it. That's what an Albanian-Indian strong woman Mother Teresa said,

I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the water to create many ripples.

Now we have to also look to the crimes related women, which are taking place everyday, like domestic violence- either in physical or mental form, rape, attempt to rape, harrasment, etc. Technology is increasing day by day. And crimes are also increasing alike. It should decrease with the help of technology, but it is increasing by the misuses of technology.

In year 2021, 2300 cases were reported by NCB. Out if it, 70% did not inform anyone about it. Even among those who sought help, very few reached out to the relevant authorities. According to the Hindu news, 833 rape cases registered in year 2021. According to the National Commission for women, 3788 cases were of harrasment of married women/ dowry harrasment, 1679 molestation, 330 dowry death, 11 gender discrimination, 376 sexual harrasment cases are registered in year 2021. As compare to the year 2020, the case rate is too high in each area.

The number of crimes can't be satisfactory, because many cases are hidden for the name of reputation, eminence of society and many women undergoes certain sufferings or pain or they even attempt suicide. The whole information indicates the lake of safety for women. The number of crimes against women are increasing day by day. In addition, the source of all this crimes against women are most of the orthodoxy of society. Society suppresses the woman not to raise voice against crime, to be quiet for the status or eminence of their family in the society. In many cases family members believe woman responsible for such crimes and ill treat them. Sometimes women don't raise voice because of fear. In many cases women are harassed by their family members, relatives, known friends or neighbours.

Everything is here, fair and foul, now it's our turn to show the real tittle of power, which they have given to us. If we will only look at these numbers of crimes, we'll be unable to do something fruitful. It's better to not find how it's occurs, but how we can stop it. It's better to not rely on anyone, just find out your way by yourself and that will give you the real strength and even pleasure. Don't let anyone to tell you weak, because you are the creator of the human race.

At last, I just want to tell each woman to be independent by herself, educate yourself in a real sense, have self confidence and be the creator of yourself. Don't expect from anyone, just be yourself, Only you can change your life as well as the rest of the world.

You are the best and you will be the best...
