Two-day National Seminar on "English Studies in India: A Paradigm Shift in Language and Literary Discourse
Paper Title: A Feminist Study of Selected Indian Advertisements
The Department of English, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University hosted a Two-day National Seminar on "English Studies in India: A Paradigm Shift in Language and Literary Discourse" from February 28th to 29th, 2024. During this event, I had the privilege of presenting my paper, titled "A Feminist Study of Selected Indian Advertisements," on February 28th, 2024. The conference employed a hybrid format, and I delivered my presentation in the online mode. My paper delved into the feminist examination of the portrayal of women in contemporary society. Despite the prevailing notion that a feminist approach may be deemed unnecessary, particularly in media such as advertisements, my analysis posits that adopting a feminist perspective is indispensable for unraveling the implicit narratives.
